it gets nine lives and baby then that's that

so I can't let her play

by the roadside



when she was young

she was curious

drawn to love as something glorious

had to find

love's a type

of suicide



so if it's only a matter of time

before you break this heart of mine

then I think that i'll just decline



She's happy slinking on her own

she'll always find her way home

through the streets

and the alleyways

of lovers



She will toy with the lives of birds

scatter feathers and idle words

pin 'em down

play a while

'til their little deaths



so if it's only a matter of  flesh

before you take your dying breath

then i think that i'll just confess
